Will You Wait For Me, 20” x 16” oil on linen panel, 2023. 

I originally started it as something fun to do while waiting on a couple of commissions to dry a bit so I could continue working on them, but it quickly started to take shape into something special. 

From the beginning, I knew that I wanted the eyes to be clear and in focus, though as I started working, I decided to make the hair more pronounced. Instead of just showing the different layers of the hair with color only, I decided to leave a large portion of it similar in color, but use thick paint illustrate the different textures. 
 
The paint is thicker than a Snicker in some places. Usually, my paintings only require one layer of varnish when complete, but to cover the hair completely, this one required multiple layers.
